Do I Scare You?
Share
It's not my problem who you think you are. If I'm here with you, it's us. Here. Together. Apart. Dissociated. Distracted. Dislocated. The world sometimes seems like an endless hell. And then she shows up.
She isn't the creator. She's not a destroyer either. She is a mirror. But the trick is, she's fake. She whispers in your ear about things. Fearful things. About yourself. And when you almost can't stand it, she reveals herself. Shadow, but not quite. Something tells you in her eyes that she's not the problem. She brings to you the knowledge that somebody is sucking your soul. And when you find that person, nobody can stop what happens next:
Death of self.
Once again.
She faces you almost whimsically, and asks, " Do I scare you?" And then you realize that she is insecurity. Because why would evil ever question itself?
